THIS is the night...
I've posted this on Facebook already, but I really don't know when it will sink in that WE HAVE the FULL DREAM of REINDEER MEADOW here!
No matter the size of gift (including that of sharing the message about this fundraiser), by coming together with what we had to offer, we are fully funded and THEN some. While drafting the pitch for this campaign, I certainly had the thought of "Wow, what if we receive the full $1500?" Then came the thought, "Wow, what if reach the full $3,000?" Did I ever think I would hear from Heidi, "Lisa, did you see that you are fully funded!" "Think about a stretch goal!"
Thank you, one and all.
We found SUCCESS. And we are honored to be able to present to you Reindeer Meadow, honoring those that have come before us. I hope they would find joy and delight in our dreams, as they too dreamed.
Beyond blessed. Lisa
Let's hear you cheer for the reindeer!
The words escape me to describe the excitement and overwhelming sense of gratitude for all that have supported this fundraising venture. I wish that each one of you could be here every night to see and hear the responses that I KNOW Garden Glow visitors will be making when they see Reindeer Meadow for the first time. (we do take volunteers, if you want to take my wish seriously - )
It dazzles and sparkles!
We're going to keep going - onto fundraising for Mrs. Claus's Retreat - a goal on our 2019 list! That woman needs somewhere to relax and unwind after all she does to tend to Santa, the Elves, the Reindeer...
Tonight is the night we light up the winter skies with more than 100,000 lights on display. Yes, you can picture Clark Griswold :) - ours are at least spread out over a few acres so that we won't be blinding drivers or our neighbors!
Thank you - Lisa
We know blessings...
Three full weeks ago, this adventure of crowdfunding via RabbitRaisers began.
Thanks to the support of Heidi Hopewell and Erin Glidden from the SDSU Foundation, we got going on this cool track to fundraising. They were so right about how people will invest in something where they know they can make a difference - contributing financially and also by sharing the message.
As I wrote up the pitch, dreamed up the giving levels and sent the final work to Heidi, I know I thought, "Wow, what if we reach $3,000?" And here we are. At the very edge of that happening.
As the gifts continue to be given, I think about those who I named the reindeer after. We would be so proud to show and to tell THEM of your generosity. I also hope they would giggle and smile - maybe even spy a reindeer that they thought looked like them.
Just a little bit farther...
can you believe this day?
I am overwhelmed by the generosity of people - I really shouldn't be surprised, but when the gift is given to something that you pour your heart into, it's truly surreal.
The day is not yet over, I know. #GivingTuesday gifts are accepted and matched, up until 11:59pm.
What a partnership - McCrory receives the blessings of the initial gift and SDSU Students receive the match that is available from the Larson Family Foundation.
This is OUR community. Come to Garden Glow, December 8-31, 5-7pm nightly (except 12/24 and 12/25) and bask in the light of generosity.
In celebration and humble thanksgiving - Lisa
YOU DID IT! We are over the halfway point of our goal. We couldn't be more grateful, nor more humbled.
Thank you SO much to today's donors - gifting a total of $80.00. Each and every gift received takes us one step closer to completing the full vision of Reindeer Meadow -
It's difficult to put into words what this simple sounding goal truly entails. More than 2600 visitors came to see the lights of Garden Glow 2017. (That is more than triple the number of visitors in 2016!) Family rituals and traditions are starting. People are getting engaged under the lights! If you have a chance, check out our Facebook page and see what people are saying!
There's a lot more glowin' on at the Gardens this December-
Thank you- sincerely - Lisa
Oh. my. goodness!!!
Excuse my extensive usage of explanation points, but THIS IS EXCITING!!!
In just a little over one week's time, we have reached our minimum goal!
This is astounding!
51% funded with just 14 donors.
These gifts will bring forth a full herd of 9 Reindeer to the Meadow.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. What's tomorrow going to bring?
For one thing, get more REINDEER!
Deep gratitude - Lisa
This adventure of Crowdfunding for Reindeer Meadow has been very heartwarming. It's very close to being one week old now and the number of people talking about it is amazing! We were a part of a pop-up market at the SD Art Museum this weekend. I'm certain each person stopping by our booth had heard about Horse-Drawn Trolley Rides, Music & Mistletoe, Garden Glow and specifically Reindeer Meadow. THANK YOU to all that spread the word - it's what we need.
Continue to tell those that you know, about the holiday happenings we have "glowing on" at McCrory Gardens. Facebook and our website are great resources to get that info, as well as The Brookings Register, The Town & Country Shopper, Brookings Radio, The Collegian, and The LINK magazine - for starters. :)
$1500 is our minimum need to get the Reindeer + a few other little features.
$3000 is the high-end goal, to get the details purchased and installed.
You can be sure, gifts of all size will make a difference! (And all will be appreciated.)
Thank you - Lisa
Another awesome day today!
I wanted to write about this yesterday, but needed to do a little work first before we could thank our special donor.
Sonja has been a strong backer of the idea that we NEED to give our 1 single reindeer of last year, some friends and family this year. It's been a blast dreaming with her!
Sonja's story is exactly the type of story that we hear quite often at McCrory Gardens - this is a place where one can remember, honor and recognize people in our lives that have left their mark on our heart. Sonja gives her gift "for mom". Living on a MN farm that had a long driveway and probably not much traffic going by, having lights trim their family home was not so much on dad's priority list. But is was something mom had always wanted.
Sonja, thank you for the honor of displaying lights for mom, here at McCrory Gardens.
6 donors. 24% funded. $740
Thank you- Lisa
What a great day today!
A shout out to The Town and Country Shopper for their gift of $105.00!
Speaking in terms of "reindeer", we have funds enough for Sam, Ron and most of Jim/James. :)
Generosity abounds - please continue to share our message! We need a CROWD to completely build this meadow.
5 donors. 8% funded. $240
Thank you! Lisa
