Help Make Our Broadcasting Dream a Reality!

KSDJ is the student-run radio station on campus, providing music, shows, and events!

Our Project

KSDJ is raising money for tech upgrades within the station! With updated equipment and systems, our station will be able to have a better sound, an easier management of music and songs, and an improved communication line with our listeners. At KSDJ, we aim to provide the best quality music and shows to Jackrabbits everywhere!

Who WE Are

KSDJ is managed by eight students: Tori Berndt, Megan Janssen, Hayden Woods, Clayton Sorum, Kadi Terca, Carter Schmidt, Cole Nachtigal, and Jarod Uher. With the help of our advisors, Kate Stock and Jim Helland, we all work together throughout the year to make KSDJ rock! Our tasks include creating ads, managing the station and student DJs, running our social media, providing news and sports entertainment, producing our own shows, and much more. You can read more about all of the staff members here.

We all come from a variety of majors, yet we join together to share our love of radio and student media. KSDJ has taught us all new skills, given us work experience, and introduced us to the fun world of radio!

History of KSDJ

KSDJ started at South Dakota State University 27 years ago on May 14, 1993. We air music from the new rock genre, with some other tunes thrown in every now and then! As well as staff members’ shows, we have student DJs who volunteer their time to host their own shows every week. KSDJ is broadcast from the basement of the student union.

KSDJ has always been a strong asset for SDSU students. We bring the news, sports updates, events, music, and more to our Jackrabbit listeners. Our staff gains valuable leadership experience and media skills that are unlike any other. Finally, KSDJ is a center that allow students to communicate, learn, and listen to awesome music. Help this center grow at SDSU by supporting our fundraiser!

Where will the money go?

With your help, the $1,500 will fund our new tech upgrades at the station. We ultimately want to provide the best new rock music and student shows to the Jackrabbit community everywhere! With your donation, we will be updating the station at SDSU to help boost broadcasts, student skills, and Jackrabbit media. Some of the new upgrades will include:

  • KSDJ shirts
  • Sports broadcasting equipment
  • New phone system
  • Multiple broadcast microphones
  • New music software
  • New station computer
  • Station camera
  • And more!!
